We do know the rear-drive 1 Series M will use a forced induction engine, a high-output variation of the N54 twin-turbo found in the 335i. Huge fender flares are obvious on the prototype, along with much wider wheels and tires, plus the traditional M quad-outlet exhaust system. The front suspension will be stiffened to accommodate the loads of power and speed from the new power plant.
The BMW 1 Series M Coupe will hit the American market in the first half of 2011. We can hardly wait!
