
It helps encourage the art form to educators, parents and caregivers, showing how it carries the traditions, histories and values of every current culture and every one that has been. Since 2000, the Miami-Dade Library has partnered with other libraries in Jamaica, Ghana, Ireland, Bahamas, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Brazil and many, many more to explore the creative ways storytelling is utilized by the many different cultures.
Dance Companies, video game challenges, story slams and an open mic all await visitors with a collection of hands-on imaginative toys to appeal to all ages. This year, the 2011 show commemorates international partner Denmark, and features a performance by the Momentum Dance Company of Danish writer Hans Christian Anderson’s book The Ugly Duckling. Facepainting, Mother Goose on the Loose and many other Danish surprises await you, so visit it this week!
