It appears that BMW has focused on making the vehicle lighter through the use of a carbon fiber passenger cell and an aluminum chassis. A combination 3-cylinder turbo diesel with a hybrid synchronous motor at the front and a full-hybrid engine at the back will provide a total system output of 241 kW/328bhp. BMW's renowned ActiveHybrid system allows the electric vehicle the performance you expect from the brand and matches it with unparalleled fuel efficiency. Just 4.8 seconds after the driver's foot asks for full acceleration, the VED will be performing at an astounding 100 km/h while still achieving around 75.1 mpg and attaining a CO2 emission rating of 99 grams/km.
The lithium-polymer rechargeable battery is rumored to have about 50 km, or 31 miles, of pure electric power, moving the vehicle from its centralized location below the vehicle's floor. A full charge of the lithium -polymer battery is achieved within a two and a half hour period. Furthermore, the distinct use of the battery provides for a car ride that is free of emissions.
Although little is known about the interior of this futuristic vehicle, it is apparent from the outside that it boasts an extremely aerodynamic design. Adding to the mystique, wing doors welcome passengers into the futuristic vehicle and allows for 2+2 seating.
