Although only one "dog beach" exists in the tri-county area (Palm Beach to Miami-Dade). Here's a short list of some of our favorites throughout the state:
- Jupiter Beach: 90 miles north of Miami, this may be a trek for some but the fido friendly atmosphere is worth it for dog-lovers. Over 2.5 miles, your dog can run, splash and play without fear of being fined.
- Key West Dog Beach: Albeit a little rocky, the Key West Dog Beach is a great place for fido to frolic.
- Sanibel Island: Looking to explore the rest of the state a little. Head to Sanibel Island and bring your pup along as there are a multitude of pet-friendly beaches on this west coast island paradise.
- Walton Rocks Dog Beach: This awesome off-leash dog park offers covered picnic tables, restroom, a large beach and plenty of room to roam. Not too far from the tri-county area.
After heading on your aquatic adventures, make sure not to miss the Happy Paws Pet expo. The expo, designed to educate, will offer entertainment for all ages November 13th and 14th. Over 200 exhibitors will occupy the Fort Lauderdale War Memorial Auditorium. Stop by to see animal entertainment including the rescued Frisbee-catching pooches of Disc-Connected K9's, K9's in Flight the high flying Dock Dogs, pony rides, Bwana Jim's Wildlife Show, Larry's Amazing Bird Show, a petting zoo and bounce houses for the kids.
