Paddleboarding makes waves

The sport is a hybrid of both kayaking and surfing. Riders stand upright on the paddleboard, shaped much like surf board, but actually much more buoyant, and paddle along to their destinations. Many claim that the sensation is similar to that of which they imagine would be likened to walking on water.

In most costal areas, you can rent a paddleboard, paddle and requisite life jacket for around $60 an hour. In this time the typical first-timer can usually travel several miles on calm waters.
