Vista BMW's Top Ten Tips for Fall Road Trips

However, leaving your house requires more than just getting packed and having proper directions. There are two important things that travelers forget to check when heading out on a holiday road trip.

First and foremost, travelers should make sure that their vehicle is appropriately maintained for the trip. Check out these great travel tips:
  • Make sure your tires are properly inflated and in good condition. More than 50% of drivers are riding on under-inflated tires.
  • Check (or have your dealer do this) all fluids, belts and hoses.
  • Load-test the battery.
  • Replace spark plug wires if they are more than two years old.
  • Replace wipers if worn out.
  • Now that your car is ready to hit the road, make sure that your home is ready for your return. Coming back to a welcoming home after a long trek is always reassuring. Check out these tips from Southern Living:
  • Clean out the refrigerator
  • Take out the trash
  • Set light timers
  • Unplug appliances and computers
  • Give keys to a neighbor

Now you're all set to hit the road, and arrive home in comfort.
