“Unofficial” details on the upcoming i3

The i3, BMW’s answer to building more sustainable transportation, will be the first all-electric mass-produced BMW the world has seen. BMW will be showcasing this drivetrain in about two weeks at the New York Auto Show and further details regarding its power supply and performance numbers will be available to the public.

We do know there are plans to offer the first i3 in a two-door, four-seat configuration, with two different formats to follow. A complete concept version of the BMW i3 will also debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this fall.
